Bite Size BSL

Our aim is to support our parents in every way we can . Key request from parents is supporting with development and understanding of British Sign Language (BSL) . The cost of courses are to prohibitive for most families to sustain, and often parents/carers see the length of courses and the accreditation a barrier to beginning to learn BSL.

Parent look for simple, everyday communication that will help them communicate with their child/children  in a relaxed, friendly, helpful and supportive environment.

Thanks to the Festival of Learning we were able to offer parents a brief taster of BSL .

Sessions were over subscribed and parents requested more  opportunities to learn BSL to support their children .

Play Journey

Play Journey ...playful adults!!

Play is fundamental to childrens development , for Deaf children often play cues may be missed by adults around them.

Thanks to Wales Pre School Providers and the Festival of learning our parents were given a brief adventure into the world of play and consideration of the Play Journey.  It was surprising for many as they learnt how they were 'bursting bubbles' on a regular basis .

Many loved engaging with their playful selves again .An the realisation that they dont offer lots of shiny expensive toys for their child to really benefit from 'time to play'.

We aim to offer more Play Education Sessions
